About Brenna

I’m running for the Indiana House to bring the voice of the everyday Hoosier to the Statehouse. I’m a mom to two boys, ages 17 and 20, and a bonus mom to four adult children with six wonderful grandkids. I hold a mechanical engineering degree and an MBA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Through volunteering with Habitat for Humanity of Lafayette as a six-year board member and now financial coach, I have seen the tough choices people families face between paying rent, buying food and keeping the lights on. Stable housing and the chance at homeownership truly changes lives.

For more than 15 years, I’ve worked as an engineer at Caterpillar in Lafayette, where I’ve learned to gather the facts, listen to the people closest to the issue, and make practical decisions that work in the real world. I’ll bring that same approach to state government, always focused on what’s best for all Hoosiers.

I am a strong supporter of our military and veterans - my husband, his two sons and both our fathers are veterans and my oldest son is an Air Force ROTC cadet at Purdue University.

I have been a foster home for schnauzers through Almost Home Schnauzer Rescue based out of Indianapolis and our current dog Annie was adopted through them. I will be an advocate for legislation to ban puppy mills and have tougher penalties for animal abuse.

I’m running because our legislature has lost sight of the basics. Families need attainable homeownership, strong public schools, and healthcare that is accessible and affordable. These aren’t partisan issues; they’re the foundation of a thriving Indiana.

I’m stepping forward because we can do better and because everyday Hoosiers deserve to be heard, respected, and represented.
